A few things people ask before saying yes
Real answers, the kind we'd want if it were our own family asking.
Signing up
Yes. Peace Buddy works just as well for someone signing up for themselves. Your weekly wellness report simply comes to you instead of a family member, and you're the one we talk to about scheduling and preferences.
We reach out personally to get your number confirmed and get a free 30-minute consult on the calendar. As we're just getting started, that's a real person reaching out directly, not an automated queue.
We talk through whether Peace Buddy is actually a good fit, no pressure either way. If it is, you're added to the waitlist. If it isn't, we'll tell you straight rather than sign you up anyway.
For our Training Program tier, it's a strict first-come, first-served line, and we're moving people through quickly since we're actively bringing on new families. For a single, fully graduated buddy from day one, timing depends on availability, more on that in the pricing section below.
Once your spot opens, you'll have an onboarding call and have your first live conversation with your buddy shortly after, typically within about a week.
The day-to-day
Always. No AI, no bots, no scripts pretending to be human. You'll know your buddy's name, and they'll know yours, along with your stories and what you actually care about.
Depends on the tier. In the Training Program, you're matched with a buddy who's still completing training, and that match may rotate from week to week. With a fixed-buddy tier, you'll choose from real candidates and do a brief intro call before deciding, and that's the person who stays with you.
You can change buddies at any time, for any reason, no questions asked. It's not unusual, and it's never a hassle.
Weekend coverage keeps things going too, so you're never fully without contact just because it's Saturday or Sunday.
No, and that's intentional. Peace Buddy is companionship, not clinical care. We don't create medical, nutrition, or fitness plans. What we do is help people stay engaged, connected, and active in ways that matter to them, a card club, a hobby group, a weekly call to look forward to.
Peace Buddy isn't a clinical or memory-care service, and we're upfront about that. For many people in early stages, consistent, familiar conversation still makes a real difference. But we won't pretend to replace medical care, and if something seems like it needs a doctor's attention, we'll say so rather than guess.
Your buddy retries, then calls directly, and if there's still no response, reaches out to the emergency contact on file. It's a caring follow-up, most of the time it's nothing, but we'd rather check than assume.
Making sure this is safe
Those exist to confirm someone's okay in under a minute. Peace Buddy exists to build an actual relationship, real conversation, most days, with someone who remembers what you talked about last week.
Good question to ask upfront. Your buddy is never involved in billing or payments in any way, that's a strict internal rule. You get weekly reports so nothing happens without visibility. And every buddy is a named, consistent person you've actually met and chosen, someone with a face and a background you know, not a voice out of nowhere. See exactly how we screen every buddy on our How We Vet Our Buddies page.
Never, under any circumstance. If anyone claiming to be a Peace Buddy companion asks you for money or financial information, someone's impersonating us, and we want to know about it immediately.
Family, if family is involved and the client has agreed to that. If someone signs up for themselves without family involvement, the report goes straight to them instead.
The fine print, kept short
$349 a month to start, through our Training Program, since we're a brand new company still bringing our first buddies through training. That price is yours for as long as you stay in the program, and it covers everything: 1 to 3+ check-ins a day, 7 days a week, one 30-minute video call weekly, and a weekly wellness report.
Prefer one fixed, fully graduated buddy with no rotation from day one? That's $499 a month for qualifying families, or $699 a month standard, both on a waitlist basis, more below.
Because your buddy is still completing training, and you may be matched with a new training buddy from week to week rather than one fixed person. It's a real trade-off, less continuity for a lower price, locked in for as long as you stay in the program. If you and a training buddy really click, you can upgrade to keep them permanently once they graduate.
Both get you one consistent, fully graduated buddy with no rotation, the same person every time. $499 a month is available for qualifying families through income-based assistance, just ask when we talk. $699 a month is our standard rate. Both are currently waitlist-based since our graduated-buddy availability is limited while we're still growing, we'll reach out as soon as a spot opens.
No. Cancel anytime, for any reason. Nothing is locked in.
You have a full 8 weeks, two months, to decide. If it's just not right for you in that window, you get a complete refund, no questions asked. See the full details on our 8-Week Guarantee page.
Not currently. Peace Buddy is private pay right now. It's something we're actively exploring for the future, but today it's a straightforward monthly membership.
Anywhere in the US. Since everything happens by phone and video, there's no local service area to worry about.
