FAQ

A few things people ask before saying yes

Real answers, the kind we'd want if it were our own family asking.

Can I sign myself up, without my kids involved?+

Yes. Peace Buddy works just as well for someone signing up for themselves. Your weekly wellness report simply comes to you instead of a family member, and you're the one we talk to about scheduling and preferences.

What actually happens after I fill out the form?+

A real person calls you back within about 15 minutes, any hour, any day. That first call is quick, just enough to confirm your number and get a free 30-minute consult on the calendar.

What happens on the free consult call?+

We talk through whether Peace Buddy is actually a good fit, no pressure either way. If it is, you're added to the waitlist. If it isn't, we'll tell you straight rather than sign you up anyway.

How long is the waitlist?+

Never more than 7 days, guaranteed. It's a strict first-come, first-served line. Nobody can pay to skip ahead of you, and you can't be skipped either.

How soon will my buddy actually start calling?+

Within 7 days of your spot opening, you'll have an onboarding call, choose your buddy from real candidates, and have your first live conversation.

Is my buddy really a real person?+

Always. No AI, no bots, no scripts pretending to be human. You'll know your buddy's name, and they'll know yours, along with your stories and what you actually care about.

How do I pick my buddy?+

During onboarding, you'll get a short list of real candidates and can do a brief intro call with any of them before choosing. You're the one making the choice, that's a big part of why the relationship actually sticks. You can see the kind of profiles you'll be choosing from on our Meet Our Buddies page.

What if my mom and her buddy just don't click?+

You can switch buddies at any time, for any reason, no questions asked. It's not unusual, and it's never a hassle.

What happens on weekends?+

A dedicated weekend buddy, the same person every Saturday and Sunday, keeps things covered. You'll only ever have two familiar voices, never a rotating cast of strangers.

Do you offer nutrition or fitness plans?+

No, and that's intentional. Peace Buddy is companionship, not clinical care. We don't create medical, nutrition, or fitness plans. What we do is help people stay engaged, connected, and active in ways that matter to them, a card club, a hobby group, a weekly call to look forward to.

What if my parent has memory issues or early dementia?+

Peace Buddy isn't a clinical or memory-care service, and we're upfront about that. For many people in early stages, consistent, familiar conversation still makes a real difference. But we won't pretend to replace medical care, and if something seems like it needs a doctor's attention, we'll say so rather than guess.

What if my buddy doesn't hear back one day?+

Your buddy retries, then calls directly, and if there's still no response, reaches out to the emergency contact on file. It's a caring follow-up, most of the time it's nothing, but we'd rather check than assume.

How is this different from a robocall check-in service?+

Those exist to confirm someone's okay in under a minute. Peace Buddy exists to build an actual relationship, real conversation, most days, with someone who remembers what you talked about last week.

I'm worried this could be a scam targeting my parent. How do I know it's not?+

Good question to ask upfront. Your buddy is never involved in billing or payments in any way, that's a strict internal rule. You get weekly reports so nothing happens without visibility. And every buddy is a named, consistent person you've actually met and chosen, someone with a face and a background you know, not a voice out of nowhere. See exactly how we screen every buddy on our How We Vet Our Buddies page.

Will my buddy ever ask for money, gift cards, or account information?+

Never, under any circumstance. If anyone claiming to be a Peace Buddy companion asks you for money or financial information, someone's impersonating us, and we want to know about it immediately.

Who sees the weekly wellness report?+

Family, if family is involved and the client has agreed to that. If someone signs up for themselves without family involvement, the report goes straight to them instead.

How much does it cost?+

$699 a month once you're matched with your buddy. That covers a dedicated main buddy Monday through Friday, a dedicated weekend buddy Saturday and Sunday, 1 to 3+ check-ins a day, 7 days a week, one weekly video call, and a weekly wellness report.

What if $699 a month is a stretch for our family?+

Ask about income-based assistance on your call. Qualifying families pay as low as $499 a month. We'd rather work something out than have cost be the reason someone goes without a buddy.

Is there a contract?+

No. Cancel anytime, for any reason. Nothing is locked in.

What if it's genuinely not working out?+

You have a full 8 weeks, two months, to decide. If it's just not right for you in that window, you get a complete refund, no questions asked. See the full details on our 8-Week Guarantee page.

Is Peace Buddy covered by insurance or Medicare?+

Not currently. Peace Buddy is private pay right now. It's something we're actively exploring for the future, but today it's a straightforward monthly membership.

Where is Peace Buddy available?+

Anywhere in the US. Since everything happens by phone and video, there's no local service area to worry about.
